Sameer Chopra Named Chief Analytics and Science Officer at ID Analytics

Chopra Brings More Than Two Decades of Experience in Analytics to Leaders in Consumer Risk Management

SAN DIEGO, CALIF. — ID Analytics LLC, a leader in consumer risk management, today announced that Sameer Chopra has joined the management team as chief analytics and science officer. Chopra will take over the role from Dr. Stephen Coggeshall, who retired last month after more than a decade with the company. As chief analytics and science officer, Chopra will oversee research and development and manage the data scientists that develop and refine the data-driven models that power ID Analytics’ products and services. He will report directly to Scott Carter, CEO of ID Analytics.

Most recently, Chopra served as chief analytics officer at GoDaddy, where he led the data science and advanced analytics group, as well as the business analytics teams. Prior to GoDaddy, he was chief analytics officer at Orbitz where he built the advanced analytics group from the ground up—applying data science and machine learning across different facets of the organization, helping transform the culture to become more data and analytics driven.

Chopra has also held analytics roles at Intuit and eBay. While at eBay, he designed and developed robust fraud detection models and data mining techniques that helped the company predict and prevent fraud. He earned a master’s in operations research from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

He currently also serves on the advisory board of Northwestern University’s Master’s in Analytics program where he mentors students and helps shape the curriculum.
