Identity Force Adds ID Analytics for Data Defense to its Suite of Identity Protection and Credit Monitoring Products
Partnership Gives Government Agencies Fast and Easy Access to Comprehensive Breach Solutions
FRAMINGHAM, MA and SAN DIEGO, CA, October 31, 2006 – Identity Force, provider of powerful, complete and worry-free identity theft solutions for consumers, businesses and organizations, and ID Analytics Inc., the Identity Risk Management technology company, today announced that Identity Force will resell ID Analytics' unique ID Analytics for Data Defense; to government agencies as part of its suite of identity protection and credit monitoring products. Identity Force is one of three companies awarded a blanket purchase agreement by the General Services Administration to provide credit monitoring and identity theft protection services to the U.S. government. ID Analytics' services will be available through Identity Force and can determine if compromised data is being misused in an organized way.
"Our partnership combines Identity Force's leadership in helping government agencies combat identity theft with ID Analytics' unique ability to evaluate the actual threat level of data breaches," explained Bruce Hansen, chairman and CEO of ID Analytics. "The end result is a solution that will give federal customers a true understanding of the real risks associated with their particular data breach, and a proactive and targeted assistance plan to protect affected individuals."
"Identity Force solutions combine protection, detection, restoration and reimbursement to deliver the strongest available defense against identity theft, one of the fastest growing crimes in America," said Steven Bearak, CEO of Identity Force. "ID Analytics' services are a perfect addition to our offerings. With this powerful service, our government customers can analyze a data loss or breach to establish the level of risk involved, and design a rapid response program that is both affordable and appropriate for the situation."
ID Analytics for Data Defense compare a breach file against data in the company's ID Network®, the nation's only real-time, cross-industry source for indentity information to search for patterns of organized or systematic misuse. The ID Network comprises more than three billion identity elements contributed by its members, which span the financial services, telecommunications, e-commerce, healthcare, utility, retail, government, and consumer sectors.
"When fraudsters use stolen identity information for financial gain, they typically leave tell-tale signs that are detectable only through the ID Network," added ID Analytics' Hansen. "They might change addresses or phone numbers when they use those identities to open new bank accounts, obtain mobile phones or secure credit cards. The identities of individuals that were part of the same breach may start to relate to each other in suspicious ways. Without our technology, these identity patterns and behaviors often appear benign. However, by applying deep analytics across multiple companies and industries, we are able to identify systematic misuse of data sets."
ID Analytics can also produce a list of any impacted identities along with details on the patterns of misuse, allowing a breached organization to deliver victim assistance directly to those that need it. Moreover, if misuse is found, information discovered during the analysis of the breached file can be provided to law enforcement so that they can apprehend those individuals who may decide to misuse identities.
Identity Force RAPID RESPONSE™ solutions are designed for immediate deployment on behalf of businesses, organizations and government agencies in the event of a data breach. Identity Force is the only firm on the General Services Administration's Credit Monitoring Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) to provide U.S. government agencies with ID Analytics Breach Analysis Service, as well as Social Security Number Monitoring, Credit Card Monitoring and Public Record Directory Monitoring & Deletion services.
