Pioneering Identity Intelligence

Co-founders Bruce Hansen and Mike Cook established ID Analytics in March 2002 in San Diego, California, drawing on their combined 40 years of experience in analytic software and services for risk, operations, and marketing applications. Fielding a talented team of professionals with diverse expertise in engineering, physics, marketing and mathematics, they pursued the notion of applying Advanced AnalyticsSM technology and a unique business model within the U.S. to address identity fraud – one of the nation's largest financial crimes. The result was a product that delivered an accurate prediction of the likelihood of identity risk associated with an application for credit.

Since then, we have evolved significantly from our original focus on identity fraud and the mission to create identity risk management solutions. However, our objectives remain the same: to enable both industry and government to determine whether people are in fact who they say they are with as little consumer friction as possible. What's more, we provide this capability in real time, which is especially valuable during critical contact points – such as when a consumer applies for a credit card or cell phone service, by phone or online.

Today, we are an established leader in identity intelligence, with solutions and capabilities that build upon and extend our initial emphasis on identity fraud. Our achievements in identity intelligence introduce immediate visibility about individual identities. For example, we now assess creditworthiness of individuals with little or no credit history. And that leads to business decisions that result in increased revenue potential, cost savings, and enhanced brand equity. Moreover, we expect the growth in social networking, technology advancements and broad data access will only increase the business- and consumer- need to manage identity risk and increase identity insight.
