New Scoring Technology Assesses Consumer Identity Elements to Improve Identity Verification
SAN DIEGO – ID Analytics®, LLC, a leader in consumer risk management, today announced that the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office granted the issuance of U.S. Patent Number 8,918,891 for the company’s identity manipulation detection system and method. This patent recognizes ID Analytics’ unique approach to detecting and classifying fraud risk.
The patent covers processes that assess the variation in a consumer’s identity elements over time to determine whether there are typographical errors or if a consumer is deliberately manipulating their identity to commit fraud. The new scoring technology examines a consumer’s name, Social Security number, date of birth, phone number and address in ID Analytics’ ID Network®, one of the nation’s largest networks of cross-industry consumer behavioral data.
