Digital Industry Showcased in 5th Annual Information Technology Executive of the Year Awards

SAN DIEGO, CA – Stephen Coggeshall of ID Analytics, Inc., was presented the IT Lifetime Achievement Award by The San Diego Business Journal for his breakthrough developments utilizing algorithms to defend against cyber crimes including security breaches and identity fraud. And San Diego State University’s Rich Pickett was selected as the Exemplary Service Award recipient for his technical oversight of major educational facilities and also his humanitarian efforts as a pilot during the earthquake in Haiti, at the Business Journal’s 5th Annual Information Technology Executive of the Year Awards.
Winners were chosen from 43 finalists whose expertise and creativity spanned industries from law to finance to craft brewing. Each of the 11 winners was chosen for their innovative efforts in building and managing complex digital infrastructures, using a blend of science and art. These forward-thinking professionals represent a highly-skilled new component of the economic community that is revolutionizing the way we conduct business.
The event, supported by title sponsor ESET, was held at the Reuben H. Fleet Science Center on Thursday, April 19, and brought more than 400 representatives of San Diego’s tech industry together among the interactive exhibits.
An independent panel of judges, known for their expertise in the technology field, analyzed and elected the top candidates. The judges included David Kay, Mark Kohlheim and Lee Sharp.
The 2012 Information Technology Executive of the Year winners, listed by company category, are:
