In making the announcement, Nanette Leonard, executive vice president for DataX, said the subprime lending industry has historically focused on negative underwriting – reasons not to fund a loan. These techniques, she said, tend to miss quality consumers because they fail to look for positive performance information that is available outside of traditional credit reports. DataX has pioneered positive decisioning techniques, significantly helping clients better understand these so-called “thin-file” or “no-file” consumers – people with no borrowing history, she said.
